FAQ’s

How can I pay for Netball Nippers?

We prefer payment by bank transfer/BACS although we do accept cash or cheque.

Paying upfront is a big commitment what if we don’t like Netball Nippers?

Players are invited along for a free taster session to see if they enjoy it. If having started and paid for classes you no longer wish to continue with them, then you will be entitled to a refund dependent upon the number of sessions already attended as follows:

If you give notice:

  1. (a) after end of first session: a complete refund of all session costs including the first one.
  2. (b) after end of term: no remaining sessions paid for therefore no refund due. You should notify NETBALL NIPPERS as soon as possible that you do not wish to renew.
  3. (c) all other situations: NETBALL NIPPERS will refund the cost of all unattended sessions less one session which will cover the cost of administration and allow us the opportunity to replace the player during the term. For example, if a player wishes to leave a 12 week term after 6 weeks, then NETBALL NIPPERS will refund the cost of 5 sessions.

Are your coaches trained?

At each class the Head Coach will be at least a level 1 accredited England Netball coach. All coaches are trained in the Netball Nippers behaviours and coaching skills.

What does the class involve?

All classes include key areas of netball skills: warm up, running, movement and footwork, ball skills – passing, ball skills – catching, and warm down.

How long does each class last?

Each class lasts 45 minutes.

Do I need to bring anything along?

Please bring along a drink for your child – drink breaks will be encouraged. Please bring along a healthy snack (e.g. sliced banana or apple) for after the lesson but please do not encourage the players to eat during exercise. The lessons will discuss the importance of eating the right foods to provide energy and to make you stronger, fitter and more resilient.

As this is an active class, please make the coach aware if your child requires any medical devices such as an asthma inhaler. Also, please ensure that you bring any such device to each session.

What should my child wear?

Players should wear appropriate clothing and shoes for sport. Hair should be tied back and no jewellery should be worn during classes. The high-quality Netball Nippers sports kit, as can be seen in the pictures dotted about this website and in the merchandise section, is available to be purchased separately.

What happens when my child is old enough to progress to the next class?

We will speak with you when we believe your child is either old enough or developmentally ready to move on to the next stage of their Netball Nippers’ career. Typically, children move up to the Dolphins and Sharks classes at the start of a new term or half term after their 4th and 6th birthday. We aim to keep all the children stimulated by motivating and stretching them within their personal limits during the sessions.

And what about when my child outgrows Netball Nippers?

We will speak with you when we think your child is ready to move on from Netball Nippers.  We have extensive links to local netball teams and will be able to recommend a club that is suitable for your child. Although sad to see our Netball Nippers leave, we take great satisfaction in seeing them move on with all the basic skills needed to flourish within more competitive clubs.

Can parents help their child?

We encourage parents to help their child when appropriate, usually this will mean allowing them simply to participate by themselves and sometimes it’s about holding their hand for a while. Each child will need different support, we are happy to help and advise you.

How many children do you have in a class?

The maximum number of children in each class is 20 although we aim to keep the numbers in the Tiddlers class no higher than 12 since at the younger ages children often need additional supervision.

Can my son attend Netball Nippers?

Yes boys are welcome to attend Netball Nippers.
